Wednesday, July 4, 2012 – Rosemead Community Event

 

Independence Day – Rosemead celebrates Indepen-

dence Day by closing Valley Blvd from Walnut Grove to

Rio Hondo and Mission Drive from Rosemead to Rio

Hondo from 5:00 am – 1:00 pm. (Lower Azusa Road to

Temple City Blvd suggested as an alternate).

 

These closures facilitate day-long activities including:

 

·      10:00 am -- A parade from Valley and Bartlett to

            Rosemead Park – the theme will be “Rosemead:

            Looking Back, Moving Forward”

·      12:00 pm - 10:00 pm Carnival and food booths

·        5:00 pm Stage Entertainment

   5:30 pm – John Juan Hot Rods Rebel Review

   7:00 pm -- Chumis the Magical Circus Clown

   7:30 pm – Funky Hipeez

   8:45 pm – 50/0 Raffle Winner announced

·        9:00 pm -- Fireworks at dusk – Note: Rose-

             mead is one of only two cities in the mid-

             valley area to have a show of this type.

will review the background of our receiving this coveted

designation plus other city enhancements.  An added

bonus will be a summary report of the KI convention in

New Orleans by Past RKC President Ron Robertson.

ELIMINATE Project Update – Kiwanis Division 10

Eliminate Chair Jan Robertson will present the latest on

Kiwanis International's major emphasis project: ELIMIN-

ATE, our K-Family's pledge to Eliminate Maternal and

Neonatal Tetanus from the entire world by our hun-

dredth birthday, 2015.  

 

Together we CAN accomplish this Herculean task by

focusing the efforts of every Kiwanian, KEY Club mem-

ber, Builders Club member and Aktion Clubber. Within

the first two years of the ELIMINATE Project, the Kiwan-

is Club of Rosemead will purchase a Walter Zeller

Fellowship medallion with the proceeds from our weekly

50/50 drawings.

 

Jan will give a worldwide project status update, inspire

and reinvigorate our efforts, and help us figure out how

we will help push the campaign across the finish line,

eliminating this unnecessary maternal and neonatal

death sentence from the world forever.

fall?  Here's help.  This workshop conducted from 5:00

pm – 7:30 pm by a proctor from Princeton Review

Presents covers all aspects of the common application.

This includes the essay, letters of recommendation, the

cover letter, and the difference between the common

application and those of elite schools like the Ivy

League.
