No, this isn't turning into Good Housekeeping. I found these in a book that belonged to my mother-in-law and thought them worth sharing.
Recipe for Happiness
2 heaping cups of patience
1 heart full of love
2 handfuls of generosity
A dash of laughter
1 headful of understanding
Sprinkle generously with kindness, add plenty of faith and mix well. Spread over a period of a lifetime and serve to everyone you meet.
Take one large field, half dozen children, 2-3 small dogs, a pinch of brook and some pebbles and flowers.
Mix the children and the dogs and put them in the field. Pour the brook over the pebbles, sprinkle the field with flowers, spread over all a deep blue sky and bake in the sun. When brown, place in a bath tub to cool.
