NEWS

SUCCESSFUL INSTALLATION:  Oct 3, 2008  saw the Garvey Park Community Center hosting an installation dinner for 2008-2009 Kiwanis Division 10.  Lt. Governor, Our own RKC Past President Ernie Ayala was installed as Division 10 Lt. Governor along with officers for several Division 10 clubs, including Bob Bruesch and Fred Mascorro as President and Vice President of Rosemead Kiwanis

THURSDAY OCTOBER 9, 2008 – RKC MEETING: (Regular Meeting)* 

Liposuction – technical name for  medically (mechanically) removing fat from the body featuring Dr. Robert Yoho of Pasadena. 

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 15 – Community Safety Meeting

The theme of this month’s meeting will be “Understanding the Public Safety Business Unit Operations”. Participants will have an opportunity to learn more about the roles and responsibilities of the Public Safety Center and the programs and services available for Rosemead’s residents. The location is 8301 East Garvey Avenue (NE Corner of intersection with Charlotte). Parking will be available in the adjacent Zapopan Park parking lot. Please enter off of Garvey Avenue. Rosemead Kids – Carol Mahoney, after school coordinator for the Rosemead School district will share with us what Kiwanis can do to be effective in improving life for children and families in the Garvey District. 

THURSDAY OCTOBER 30, 2008 – RKC MEETING: (Regular Meeting)*

California Propositions – Jan Robertson has arranged for a speaker from the League of Women Voters to present the program at our meeting just before the election. She will go over the foremost state ballot propositions, both pros and cons, in a non-partisan manner. Printed materials will be distributed.
