City Council Meeting- 5/25/2010Major items on the agenda

              include:

Glendon Way (Rosemead Inn) Sale – Community Redevelopment agency officials are recommending termination by mutual consent of the current operating lease on this property.  The 53-unit motel was acquired by the city several years ago and is now considered surplus. The officials are also seeking Council guidance on future actions, if any, to be taken against the present lessee for delinquent payments.  Meanwhile the city has selected one bidder from a group of seven to purchase the property.

Rosemead/Garvey Aquatic Improvements --  $522,000 will be requested for use in improving Rosemead’s aquatic plunges, according to a resolution forwarded to the Council;. This action, coming after public hearings earlier this year, represents finalization of previously announced plans to improve the two facilities during 2010.

Park Renovation – a bid of $240,000 ($40,000 under prior budget estimates) has been received for renovations of playgrounds at Klingerman, Rosemead and Zapopan parks. Since the bidder involved has been a supplier to Rosemead of such services for several decades the city administration is recommending acceptance of the lesser figure.
